FORMER local Timothy Bristow has published his first children’s book, Billy the Brilliant.

Mr Bristow grew up in Sale, attending St Mary’s Primary School and Catholic College Sale, and played football for College Junior Football and Sale Football-Netball clubs.

He moved to Launceston, Tasmania, to complete a Bachelor of Education (Primary) and played at Launceston Football Club where he won the state best and fairest award, before moving to Perth in 2014.

Mr Bristow teaches at Serpentine Grammar School south of Perth and plays for East Fremantle Football Club in the West Australian Football League.

Mr Bristow has always had a passion for writing children’s books, and last Tuesday May 3 (his 29th birthday) he published the first copies of Billy the Brilliant.

Together with his illustrator girlfriend, Natalie Martin, Mr Bristow has created a magical story about a young boy named Billy.

Billy only wanted to be one thing when he grew up — a magician.

He learnt from the best, Gregory The Great!

Nothing could ever distract Billy.

He was destined for the big time, until one day, something changed Billy’s outlook on everything.

Billy The Brilliant is the first instalment in a collection of children’s stories that explore the everyday escapades of a young child in a heart-warming and humorous way.

Children and adults will relate to Billy’s adventures.

Written in OpenDyslexic font, this tale empowers even the most challenged readers to dream big and never give up on fulfilling their potential.

The first 200 copies sold will be signed by Tim, or follow "Billy the Brilliant" on Facebook.

The book can be bought online at justzeusbooks.com.au.
