THE fourth annual Sale Rodeo will take over the Sale Greyhound Club’s “Dog Bowl” on Saturday, March 4.
Organisers have promised an action-packed and family-friendly night of entertainment, with high stakes cowboy action.
The event is part of the Australian Professional Rodeo Association, and is expected to attract the highest level of competitors from across Victoria and inter-state competing for the state championship.
The event will be hosted by the Sale Greyhound Club and supported by the Sale Football-Netball Club, and committee member Scott Pearce said a huge crowd was expected, as it was the only event of its kind this far east of Melbourne.
“We’ve had about four to five thousand patrons, maybe 1500 kids,” he said.
“It brings a lot of people from out of town.
“The calibre of the competitors and the stock gives it the credibility, people within the circuit know the names.”
A highlight this year will be Eye Candy, two-time Australian bucking bull of the year, he said.
“There’s some local fellas, they’ve been here every year, and there’s a couple of guys from Rosedale, Gormandale, Glengarry area,” he said.
“We have the facepainting, photo booths, there’s a massive big screen with instant replays — it’s fully catered, take your own camp chairs.”
A live band, Redline, will headline the evening, with gates opening at 3pm.
Tickets will be available on the gate, with family passes for $75, adults $30, students $15, and kids free.
