ROSEDALE man Darien McMillan has been charged with murder, following an alleged assault in Rosedale on Tuesday night.
Investigators were told a man was seen assaulting another Rosedale man on Hood St, near the Princes Highway, just before 10pm.
A 43-year-old man was found lying on the road. He was flown to Melbourne with serious head injuries, but died on Wednesday morning.
Homicide Squad detectives arrested 37-year-old McMillan, who appeared in Sale Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday afternoon.
McMillan made no application for bail, and will appear at Sale Magistrates’ Court for a committal mention on July 12.
His legal representative told the court McMillan needed access to his medications, including anti-psychotics and anti-depressants, while in custody.
Police believe both men knew each other, and the investigation is continuing.
