Heyfield businesses 'should adapt'

OUR beautiful Rubicon Forest is being wiped out to support the Heyfield mill.

Rubicon is a long way and two mountain ranges from Heyfield.

Does this make any sense?

Hasn't Heyfield had the last 20 years to transition out of a dwindling resource as their own surrounding forest is now gone, left in tatters, just an impenetrable mat of thirsty young growth with little biodiversity and no good for any other public user for the next 10-20-30 years, or until its deemed to be logged again.

And Heyfield still has its hand out for more public money ... my heart bleeds.

Businesses need to look ahead and adapt, not sit in the fat chair asking for hand-outs.

Shame on you Heyfield, and shame on you VicForest.
