A NAB spokesperson has confirmed the bank is assisting Victoria Police in its investigation into a former employee.
“As this is an active investigation it is not appropriate for us to comment, however we wish to assure the community there is no impact to customers,” the spokesperson said.
Sale CIU declined to provide any information other than confirming a 46-year-old Won Wron woman had been arrested in relation to allegations of theft from a bank.
The arrest followed the serving of a warrant at an address on Napier Rd, Won Wron, early Wednesday morning.
The bank employee is believed to be currently being interviewed in relation to allegations of theft of close to $500,000.
No charges have been laid at this stage.
A 54-year-old man is also assisting police with their enquiries.
The ABC reported five people have been questioned over the matter.
