SALE police are seeking information regarding a car fire on the Myrtlebank Rd near its intersection with the Sale-Heyfield Rd at Fulham.

The 2001 model Hyundai was torched about 9.40pm Monday night, with the fire reported by a passer-by.

Police believe an accelerant may have been used.

The vehicle had been broken down for a few days, as the owner tried to organise a tow during the long weekend.

Anyone who saw the incident, or who saw anyone loitering around the car, is being urged to report information anonymously to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or to Detective Senior Constable Liz Evers at Sale police on 5142 2200.

Cars damaged near hospital

POLICE are investigating after cars were damaged on Cunninghame St, Sale on Saturday night.

Between 5pm Saturday and 8am Sunday, at least five cars parked near the Sale hospital's health services building between Palmerston St and Guthridge Parade were damaged.
