POLICE are investigating the death of a man in Fulham on Sunday evening after he was struck by a vehicle on the Princes Highway about 15 kilometres from Sale.
Police believe the driver of a west-bound car pulled up on the side of the highway to help another motorist, who had driven off the side of the roadway in a road-work zone.
As the two occupants of the car, the driver and his passenger, were attempting to cross the highway, the passenger was struck by an east-bound car about 5.30pm.
The 33-year-old Dandenong man died at the scene. The occupant of the car the men were intending to help was not injured.
Trafalgar South fatality
POLICE are also investigating a fatal crash in Trafalgar South.
Investigators believe a Toyota ute was travelling south along the Mirboo North-Trafalgar Road about 10am on Sunday morning.
The car left the road and crashed into a tree.
A 44-year-old Trafalgar man died at the scene.
