A NEW $25 million 144-bed aged care facility will open in Sale on September 1, with an open day on August 20 for people to get a peek at what it offers.
The Royal Freemasons Sale facility is built on a two hectare site in Surkitt Boulevard in the Glenhaven Estate in north Sale.
It features state-of-the-art rooms, and it is hoped will provide about 150 jobs.
As well as standard and premium rooms, there are also two 18-bed wings devoted to dementia care, plus in-house medical care, a café, and hairdressing facility.
Facility manager Robyn English said it was a five-star facility, with large rooms and ensuites, as well as double rooms for partners.
“My vision is, it’ll be five-star service, and everyone is welcome,” she said.
Local employment and partnerships with local businesses and suppliers is also a priority for the facility, she said.
There are plenty of leisure activities planned as well, allowing residents to stay active and engaged in the community.
High-care rooms and palliative care will also be available, with flexible options for residents.
The home was built by Croft Developments, and was bought by the Royal Freemasons as part of a major Victorian expansion.
An open day will be held on August 20 from 11am, with a ribbon cutting ceremony, a barbecue, and music.
