A MAN allegedly responsible for a number of broken windows in the Sale CBD area in July was arrested at the weekend, following a break-in to a Sale restaurant.
According to police, the 27-year-old man smashed the front window of La Porchetta in the early hours of Sunday morning, and stole alcohol.
The man, who lives between Sale and the Latrobe Valley, was arrested later that day, and released pending summons at Sale Magistrates' Court.
Police allege the same man is responsible for a vandalism spree in Sale CBD during the early hours of Saturday, July 29.
More than a dozen shops in York St, Raymond St and Macarthur St had their windows smashed, with many business owners calling for Wellington Shire to install CCTV cameras to act as a deterrent to vandals.
