A MAN was taken into custody after a stand-off with police in Glengarry on Wednesday.
The incident began at 1.30pm when police went to speak to the man in a Main St house.
He armed himself with a firearm and made threats of self-harm, prompting police to cordon off the area and arrange for a police negotiator to speak to him.
The matter was resolved peacefully at 2.45pm when the man gave himself up to police.
A young boy who was in the house at the time was not injured.
The man is currently being assessed.
