THREE members of the Sale Fire Brigade Auxiliary were honoured by receiving their 60 year service awards at Sale Fire Brigade's recent annual presentation night.
More than 100 guests paid tribute to Margaret Monck, Ruth Glover and Glenis Appleton for their outstanding service with the auxiliary.
Julie Connolly was awarded for her 45 years of auxiliary service, David Thewlis for his 40 years, Matthew Monck and Russell Lambourn for their 30 years, David Monck, David Ryan and Phil Bloink for 25 years, Anthony King, Craig Oliver and Sam Cook for 20 years, Andy Young for his 15 years of service, Melissa Baker 10 years service, while Aaron Connolly, Georgia Martin and Ben Kleeman were given five year certificates.
Captain Col Skeen, operations manager district 10 Allan Rankin, and district 10 VFBV state councillor Mark Jones presented the awards.
Captain Skeen presented Adam Robinson with the Firefighter of the Year Award.
Gippsland South MLA Danny O'Brien said Ms Monck, Ms Glover and Ms Appleton's cumulative 180 years of volunteering was a magnificent achievement.
"I congratulate them for their exemplary service to our community over many years and thank them and their families for giving so much," he said.
"We are very lucky to be so well served by volunteers throughout our community but particularly those who put their lives on the line to fight fire and those many others who support them."
