A MAN was rescued near McLoughlins Beach after his boat capsized about a kilometre offshore on Monday.
The Yarram Standard reported the 48-year-old Sale man activated an emergency beacon and held onto the upturned boat for 30 minutes, before swimming 500 metres to a sand bar.
He was rescued by a person on a passing jet-ski, and was not injured.
The man lost personal possessions, including his wallet and car keys, and was transported by police to his home in Sale.
The Port Albert Coast Guard is expecting the boat to wash ashore in coming days.
