AS a result of the second drug raid in Wellington Shire in as many weeks, a 58-year-old Wurruk man was charged with cultivating cannabis on Friday morning.
Police executed a search warrant at the man’s Bennison Drive address at 9am, and seized 16 cannabis plants, a large amount of dried cannabis and a hydroponic setup.
Police are proceeding on summons, with a court hearing to be set at a later date.
The seizure was a joint operation between Sale uniform and crime investigation units.
The Wurruk warrant followed a raid on a house in Stratford on January 4, where a 39-year-old man was arrested on drug charges, after police seized 27 cannabis plants, a large amount of dried cannabis and a small amount of amphetamine from his address.
The 39-year-old man has been bailed to appear at Sale Magistrates Court on March 26.
