SALE police were left shaking their heads on Saturday morning after two separate incidents resulted in vehicles driven by drink-drivers being impounded.
In the first, they intercepted a P-plater with a car full of intoxicated mates travelling 20kmh over the speed limit.
The 20-year-old male from Denison allegedly returned a positive breath test of 0.14 — the reading almost three times the limit for a fully-licensed driver.
The male had his driver’s licence suspended immediately for 12 months, and his mate’s vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
Soon after, police received a report of another drink-driver in York St, Sale.
The 38-year-old male from Churchill was intercepted by police and allegedly returned a positive breath test of 0.222 — four times over the legal limit.
His licence was suspended immediately for 12 months and his vehicle impounded for 30 days. Both matters will be heard in court.
