Two still sought over shooting

DETECTIVES from the Armed Crime Squad are searching for two people following a shooting in Morwell last month.

The shooting occurred at a residential property on Avondale Rd shortly after 3.15am on February 23.

It’s believed a number of people entered the property and a 32-year-old Morwell man subsequently sustained a gunshot wound to his leg.

He was conveyed to hospital, where he remains receiving treatment.

Three people have already been charged in relation to the shooting, which investigators believe was a targeted attack.

A 36-year-old Frankston North man was charged on March 5 with intentionally causing serious injury, aggravated home invasion with a firearm, armed robbery, being a prohibited person possessing a firearm, a prohibited person possessing ammunition and possessing a drug of dependence.

A 28-year-old Capel Sound man was charged on March 5 with intentionally causing serious injury, aggravated home invasion with a firearm, armed robbery and possessing a drug of dependence.

A 30-year-old Churchill woman was charged on March 1 with intentionally causing serious injury, aggravated home invasion with a firearm and armed robbery.

All three were remanded in custody to appear in Latrobe Magistrate’s Court on May 31.

Armed Crime Squad detectives believe at least two more people were involved in the shooting and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
