Blues coming to Boisdale

Boisdale-Briagolong will host Orbost-Snowy Rovers on Saturday.

Boisdale-Briagolong will host Orbost-Snowy Rovers on Saturday.

AFTER last week’s win against Lindenow, Boisdale-Briagolong hosts Orbost-Snowy Rovers during round 13 of East Gippsland football on Saturday.

The Bombers will be looking to atone for their shock loss in round six, when Orbost overran the visitors by 11 points — the Blues’ so far only win for the season. In that match, Boisdale-Briag kept the Blues to just a point in the second term, but Orbost played out the rest of the game well to win.

In spite of this, the Bombers should be confident, and a big margin will certainly help with the run to finals — especially since next week, they’ll take on minnow Paynesville as well.

STRATFORD, riding high off a win in awful conditions against Lucknow, heads to Lakes Entrance for a top of the table clash.

Should the Swans’ forward line hold together, this should be a hard-fought match.

Lakes Entrance has struggled against upper-tier teams recently — losing to Wy Yung and Lindenow, and only defeating Stratford by four points in round six.

The team is even on points with Stratford, though considerably behind on percentage — worryingly, Wy Yung is nipping at its heels, one win behind.

WY Yung will be looking to tear apart Paynesville, and make the most of its opportunities to build big scores before playing Stratford and Lucknow in the coming weeks.

The team is two wins ahead of the rest of the competition, but keeping that spot will be the priority.

LINDENOW will try to save face in its match against Lucknow.

The Cats have been buffeted by injury and patchy playing, and will have to fight hard to defeat a determined Lucknow outfit, which is eager to break back into the top four.
