A DENISON man was charged with handling stolen goods, drug driving and trafficking drugs, after Wellington Highway Patrol stopped his car on Saturday.
Police intercepted the vehicle at 2.20pm on the Princes Highway in Hillside, near Bairnsdale, where the 47-year-old allegedly returned a positive oral fluid test result.
After searching the man’s car, police also allege a trafficable quantity of drugs was found.
The man was arrested and taken to Bairnsdale for more questioning, and was held in remand until appearing in Sale Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning.
Teen charged over carjacking
POLICE have charged a teenager following a carjacking in Morwell last week.
The alleged incident occurred outside a business on Church St about 11.45pm last Tuesday, October 2.
It is alleged two teens demanded a 20-year-old man get out of his car, a silver Subaru Impreza, before they got in and drove away.
The vehicle was recovered in Kingsford St, Moe on Thursday.
A 17-year-old boy from Morwell was arrested on Friday.
He was charged with carjacking, and remanded to appear at a Children’s Court at a later date.
Police are continuing their search for the second male.
