Firearms seized after Perry Bridge incident

A KILMANY man appeared before Sale Magistrates’ Court last Tuesday in relation to an incident at Perry Bridge in July.

Following reports of trespassing, police attended the Perry Bridge property on July 8, understanding two men attended the property to either hunt or look for prospective hunting sites for future hunts.

A 25-year-old Longford man assisted with enquiries and was exonerated.

The 25-year-old Kilmany man was fined and has had his firearms seized.

Police are encouraging people intending to hunt on private property to first obtain the permission of the property owner and its occupants to avoid prosecution, and to always carry and use firearms in a secure manner.
