POLICE were disappointed with four drivers detected exceeding the blood alcohol concentration limit in Dargo on New Year’s Day.
As part of Operation Dargo Safe, the drivers were stopped at a random breath testing site between 9am and 11.15am last Tuesday.
The drivers received penalty notices and had their licences cancelled for between three and six months.
Police were satisfied with the behaviour of the many people who gathered in Dargo to see in the new year, with no arrests made on New Year’s Eve.
Sex offender sighting
MISSING registered sex offender Christopher Empey was sighted on the New South Wales south coast in Nowra last month.
A search for the 46-year-old began in November, after he failed to comply with monitoring conditions.
Police conducted extensive searches in and around the Mansfield area after a GPS bracelet, required to be worn by Empey, was located.
When sighted, he appeared to be unshaven, still wearing the same clothing he absconded in and it is also possible he sustained some kind of injury.
It is believed the motorcycle Empey was riding, a yellow 2005 Suzuki DR650 motorcycle — registration GD531 — was sold privately to a buyer in Nowra.
Anyone who sights Empey is urged not to approach him but to phone triple zero (000) immediately.
