THE Sale-Maffra cricket minor premiership could be secured this round, as top two sides Collegians and Bundalaguah battle it out at Col Wrigglesworth Oval, beginning Saturday.
Collegians replaced Bundalaguah on top of the ladder after a big victory over Rosedale-Kilmany at the weekend, and the Bulls’ loss to Sale.
Already four points ahead of the Bulls, Collegians can seal the minor premiership if it wins.
Bundalaguah will return to the top if it’s victorious, but a loss will keep the door open for three sides to claim a home final.
THE remaining three matches will also have a bearing on who makes the finals, with six points separating third and seventh places.
Maffra, currently third, can take a big step towards securing a semi-final berth with victory over Longford at Stephenson Park.
IN a big game for both sides, Stratford will host Sale.
The sixth-placed Redbacks are six points outside the top four. The match is a must win for the Redbacks if they’re to make the finals, with a tough game to follow against Collegians to end the home-and-away season.
Helping their cause, the fourth-placed Swans will play two teams below it on the ladder in the final rounds.
IN-FORM Boisdale-Briagolong will host Rosedale-Kilmany.
The Saints trail Sale on percentage, while RK will need to bounce back from a humiliating loss to Collegians which saw it fall to seventh place on the ladder.
Victory over the Warriors will set-up an intriguing final round match for the Saints against Maffra.
