GIPPSLAND MHR Darren Chester has again slammed the state government’s silence on funding the final two stages of the Princes Highway duplication, following a visit to Traralgon by Roads, Road Safety and TAC Minister Jaala Pulford on Wednesday.

Mr Chester said Ms Pulford’s “failure to announce funding to complete the duplication” would disappoint locals, saying the visit would have been an “ideal opportunity” for an announcement regarding the state government’s $33 million share of the $165 million needed to complete the final two stages.

The first nine sections of the duplication project were funded with $210 million from the Australian government and $50 million from the Victorian government.
