A LONG-haulage truck came to grief at the Stratford roundabout leading to Bairnsdale about 3pm on Wednesday afternoon, after it appears it failed to negotiate the bend, knocking over road signs and spilling liquid - believed to be hydraulic fluid - across the intersection.

Images from the scene show the truck's trailer had separated from the cab, although it is unclear if that occurred during the accident.

Police were on scene to direct traffic around the truck, which stopped just east of the roundabout, while a clean-up was underway and until the truck could be removed.
