Bumper round of cricket

TWO in form sides will meet when Rosedale-Kilmany hosts Bundalaguah in a bumper round five of Sale-Maffra cricket.

Both sides enter the contest in form, with Bundalaguah coming off an unexpected outright victory over last year's semi-finalist in Stratford while Rosedale-Kilmany, having just missed a finals berth last year, has strung together three wins on the trot to sit comfortably inside the top four.

With the aim to play finals cricket this season, the Warriors began their campaign with victory over Stratford and followed up with hard fought wins over an improving Boisdale-Briagolong and perennial finalist Collegians.

Victory would place Rosedale-Kilmany inside the top two, but the Warriors face their biggest challenge yet this season and will enter the underdogs against an in-form Bundalaguah side looking to keep a hold on top spot.

Runner-up last year, Bundalaguah will be hoping to go one better and enter the contest with its batsmen and bowlers doing the job following an outright result against good opposition.

STRATFORD will hope to bounce back and keep in touch with the top four, but it won't get any easier against another quality side in Maffra.

Coming off an outright loss, Stratford will need a quick change in fortunes against a Maffra side coming off an outright victory and looking to keep in touch with the top of the table Bundalaguah.

Semi-finalist last year, the fifth-placed Stratford will be hoping it can turn the tables and take a big scalp to keep in touch with the top four, and could be capable of doing so if its batsmen and bowlers can both perform in the same match as it did in the big win over Collegians in round three.

Both sides bat deep, setting up an enthralling contest between bat and ball over the two days.

IN other matches, a spot in the top four could be the prize when cross town rivals Sale City and Sale meet at Stephenson Park, and Collegians will host Boisdale-Briagolong, with the victor to earn its first win of the season.
