Top teams descend on Sale

THE Bennison Adult Riding Club will host the Horse Riding Clubs Association of Victoria Top Team Trophy dressage event at the Sale Showgrounds.

Riders and horses from across the state will converge on the showgrounds for the three-day event, which begins on Friday.

Action will be in the main Avenue of Honour (over three days) and greyhound Perc Martin Arena (Friday and Saturday).

Riders will be taking part in arena familiarisation from 10am Friday with competition from 1pm to 6pm.

On Saturday, after familiarisation from 6.30am, competition will be between 8am and 6pm.

Following familiarisation on Sunday, there will be competition from 9am to 2pm.

Clubs will compete with teams of four riders.

The 22-year-old Bennison club, with around 35 members from Yarram to the Mornington Peninsula, earned the right to host the event after winning it last year at Werribee.

Last year's event attracted a record 600 entrants and about 450 spectators from across Victoria.
