Cowwarr Weir will reopen this weekend for public access after being closed for flood damage repairs.
Southern Rural Water’s Water Supply East manager, Terry Clapham, said the June floods caused considerable damage to roads and facilities at the weir and deposited large amounts of debris.
“Southern Rural Water staff and contractors have worked hard to repair the damage and we are pleased to announce the weir will reopen this weekend, including full access to the toilet block,” he said.
However he said access to the recreational vehicle camping area of the park may be restricted because of wet ground conditions.
Road access to the area is still restricted at one end by the Downings Rd bridge closure.
“As always, we ask all visitors to respect our facilities and other users,” said Mr Clapham.
