CONSTRUCTION of a model water spider was among the highlights during Stratford Primary School’s Bug Blitz field day at Peach Flat, Briagolong, recently.
The installation of the huge spider over the wetland was led by Daniel Waters, with students contributing to the construction by finishing off the legs and body of the spider.
Gnarnayayarrahe Waitairie led Aboriginal story telling, didgeridoo playing and damper making, while students also created a felted square for a patchwork quilt to be made into a mural.
Ron Reed and John Caldow led the bug and critter discovery, with the day concluding with a discovery walk.
