Cinderella and Rockafella fun

SALE’S Guthridge Primary School students are geared up, refining their performances in preparation for the school’s musical production of Cinderella and Rockerfella this week.

In what will be the school’s 24th annual musical production, all of Guthridge’s year five and six students will come together in a reworking of the traditional Cinderella story in pantomime form.

Downtrodden Cinderella, her friend Buttons, Ugly Stepsisters and Fairy Godmother, along with ‘Rockafella’ Prince Charming will all make an appearance, flanked by a horde of paparazzi, musical managers and good and bad fairies in a world of fame and celebrity.

Students have been rehearsing the production over two terms, with teachers providing singing and dancing coaching.

Costumes have been organised by integration aides, with parental assistance, and additional members of staff have made all the props and painted an impressive backdrop.

Matinees for students have already been sold out but tickets are available for tomorrow and Thursday’s shows.

For more information, or to book tickets, phone the school on 5144 3633.
