WELLINGTON Shire mayor Scott Rossetti has been keeping an eye on a trial light installation on the Sale clocktower.
The light installation, expected to be completed by Christmas, will enliven the Sale clocktower area.
Cr Rossetti said he was thrilled with the efforts to illuminate the clocktower, one of Sale’s iconic features.
“The trial installation lit the clocktower beautifully,” he said.
“There was a small group of us there to see the first illumination and it was terrific to see how quickly it transformed the mood of the space.
“The colour-changing LED technology uses red, blue, green colour combinations, allowing the computer controlling the light to be set to specific colours for various events,” Cr Rossetti said.
“For example, over Christmas we could have the lights on red and green, pink for breast cancer awareness and yellow for Daffodil Day the possibilities are almost endless.
“The light system is the same one that illuminates the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Star Casino and the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
“Residents will see ongoing work in and around the clocktower as we continue to hang and test the lighting system.”
