THE Sale Music Festival will hold its inaugural free music festival and picnic on the green on Sunday, March 10 at the Lakeside Entertainment and Arts Facility (LEAF) in the Botanic Gardens, Sale.
The festival will begin at 10.30am and there is no finish time at this stage as there has been an overwhelming response with people wishing to perform.
Bands and performers appearing on the day include Sale City Band, Sarah McLinden, Kar Ching, The Buttons, Adam Dunning, John Cashman, Dead Center, Jordi McMillan Band, Joel Spence, Sammy Mac Band, Johnny Ablett, Karavana Flamenco, Michael Harrington, Barry Jessup, Matt McQuillen, Rod Miller Band, and Taylor Ralls.
The Rotary and Lions clubs of Sale will be on site with drinks and barbecue food for sale.
People are also encouraged to take along a picnic lunch and drinks, a picnic rug and chairs.
Organisers say this is a true family event with a variety of free children’s musical activities and live entertainment which will set the Sale Botanical gardens alive.
Children will be making their own musical instruments and listen to live music, while parents are able to relax on the green grass just below.
Sale Music Festival committee chair David Harrington said it would be an event for people of all ages, with music and activities to excite everyone.
“We have a great variety of quality musicians and the day will be a showcase of our amazing local musicians, also selling their CDs on the day,” he said.
Mr Harrington said he hoped that this free event would be supported by locals who would come along with their families and friends and have a great day out.
