HEYFIELD will hold a bushfire recovery day on Sunday at the Heyfield Gordon Street Reserve, raising funds for families affected by recent fires.
The event will run from 2pm to 10pm.
There will be bands playing throughout the day, a range of activities including jumping castles, face painting and hip hop dance and music workshops.
Bands include Super Sonic, Harry Hookey &and band, Shane Marshall, the Strezlecki String Busters, the Trouser Trouts, the Holding Pattern, Buttons and Kerryn Vaughn.
A freestyle motorbike display will be conducted by Tim Coleman, a leader in the sport.
Event co-organiser Sarah Baredsley said she had been overwhelmed by support for the event.
“All of the entertainment and many of the bands are participating for free,” she said.
“Many local businesses have generously donated or are sponsoring this event.”
Throughout the day there would be more than 70 raffles, with people’s admission tickets automatically entering them in the draw.
There will also be auctions from 5pm and 7pm.
Donated auction items include football and basketball memorabilia, 500 litres of fuel, gym membership, a weekend away to Phillip Island and a chainsaw. Two of the event organisers will be available to take phone bids.
Family tickets to the day are $30 and single tickets $15.
Ticket price includes a barbecue run by the Heyfield Lions Club and access to all activities.
Phone bids for auction items can be made with Cas 0427 518 445 or Emma 0424 922 765.
All money raised will be donated to the Heyfield and District Bendigo Bank Bushfire Benefit.
