THIS year’s Wellington People’s Choice Tourism Awards was the most well attended to date, with more than 180 local dignitaries and business owners coming together to support the local tourism sector.
Presented by Wellington Regional Tourism, the awards are now in their fifth year and have become a prominent event on the Wellington tourism calendar.
Wellington Shire mayor Scott Rossetti said to see those who worked for and within the tourism industry acknowledged through these awards, showed the strengths Wellington Shire offered to visitors.
“We are fortunate to live in a part of Victoria which offers a vast array of things to do, what with diverse landscapes and a wealth of opportunities for adventure,” he said.
“For that reason, tourism plays a key contributory role in Wellington Shire.”
Wellington Shire tourism development officer Frank Norden was recognised for his continued work improving tourism within the shire.
