GEORGE Gray Centre’s new facility in Sale is now officially open.
Gippsland MHR Darren Chester unveiled the new sign and spoke of the excellent work the centre had done over many years for people in Wellington Shire with disabilities.
He praised the dedication of the committee of management, auxiliary and staff who had been instrumental in ensuring a high standard of service.
Mr Chester also commented on the major changes taking place in the disability sector,with the introduction of the national disability insurance scheme, Disability Care, and the many goals still to achieve to ensure people with disabilities can access the services they need.
George Gray Centre chief executive Ian Hunt thanked Mr Chester for his support and recognised the dedication of staff which had allowed the organisation to expand its service into Sale.
The centre is located on land formerly owned by the Catholic church, opposite St Mary’s Cathedral in Pearson St.
