THE eagerly-awaited $22.45 million Coongulla-Glenmaggie Sewerage Scheme was officially opened at a community event last weekend.
More than 50 people turned out to see the scheme’s first connection to the reticulated sewerage system at the Glenmaggie Mechanics Institute Hall.
Gippsland East MLA Tim Bull attended the event, thanking the community, Gippsland Water and Wellington Shire Council for their contributions to the development of the scheme.
A member of the Glenmaggie community flicked the switch to activate the pressure sewer unit that transfers the hall’s wastewater into the sewer pipe network.
