$6.4M Loch Sport sewerage job goes to local company

GIPPSLAND company Maffra Trenching and Boring has won a $6.4 million contract to lay an extensive network of sewer pipes in a major project to connect sewerage to Loch Sport.

The company, which has undertaken similar work at Coongulla and Glenmaggie, will connect about 65 kilometres of sewer pipes and associated fittings in Loch Sport.

Gippsland Water managing director David Mawer said the authority, as a Gippsland corporation, was pleased to award such a significant contract to a Gippsland contractor.

The contract was one of three awarded by Gippsland Water as part of the $40.3 million Loch Sport Sewage Scheme project.

Loch Sport residents will be able to engage with the project team and contractors through a shop front which will open in December.
