Retrievers are put through their paces at morass

COMPETITORS descended on Heart Morass at the weekend for the 44th national championship retrieving trial.

Defending champion Mark Davis was part of the 65 competitors from across Victoria and interstate, with the event attracting competitors from Western Australia, Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Tasmania.

In opening the championships at Sale Greyhound Club last Friday, Deputy Premier and Gippsland South MLA Peter Ryan paid homage to the work undertaken by Field and Game and Catchment Management Authorities which allowed Heart Morass to be considered for staging the championships.
