Truck rolled

A MALE driver was taken to hospital after the truck he was driving rolled at Gibson Knox’s Bridge on Maffra-Rosedale Rd, Nambrok on Tuesday.

Police said the man lost control of the grain trailer on the slippery road at about 3pm.

The man, who was the sole occupant of the truck, was taken to Sale hospital for observation.

THREE illegal immigrants from India and Malaysia have been detained and will be deported after local police intercepted the trio in Sale on Monday.

Police discovered the immigrants, who had been working as fruit pickers, during a routine intercept and noticed their visas had expired.

Sale traffic management unit Leading Senior Constable Richard Crisp said he had contacted the Immigration Department and the trio had been taken to Melbourne for processing to be sent home.

MAFFRA police are seeking owners to several lost property items which have been handed in.

Anyone who has lost an Apple Ipod, a pram-stroller, or a gold bracelet can phone Maffra police on 5147 1026.

The owners will need to be able to provide proof of ownership such a detailed descriptions or photos to claim the items.
