Cattle shot and left for dead

BRIAGOLONG police are investigating an incident that involved cattle being shot and left for dead on a property.

The shooting took place on Wonnangatta Rd, Crooked River between 6pm Monday, February 27 and 10am Tuesday, February 28.

Police believe a high powered rifle was used to kill one beast and three needed veterinary treatment.

POLICE are appealing for information regarding two break-ins in Briagolong.

A Briagolong business was burgled on Sunday morning between 1am and 8am.

Offenders stole a large amount of cash and caused significant damage inside the premises.

The power was also disconnected.

Offenders also cause an estimated $5000 damage to a second Briagolong business during the same time frame on Sunday morning.

Police believe the two incidents are related.

POLICE are appealing for witnesses who saw anyone damaging Colorbond fences on Raglan St, Sale, east of York St on Saturday night.

Several reports were made of offenders kicking fence panels causing dents and jumping on gates.

One gate was rendered inoperable.
