Easter weekend burning

THE Department of Sustainability and Environment and Parks Victoria have advised planned burning will be carried out in the following areas today and over the weekend, weather conditions permitting:

Smoke may still be visible from burns previously ignited or continuing at:

• Beverleys Rd, 15km north of Briagolong;

• Howard Rd, 25 kms north-east of Briagolong;

• Lake Colquhoun, 10km north-west of Lakes Entrance;

• Middle Story, 7.5km west of Seaton;

• Willung/Red Hill, 10km south-east of Rosedale; and

• Mitchell River National Park, 10kms south of Dargo.

NEW burns will be ignited today and over the weekend if weather conditions are suitable, at:

• Mt Bruno: a 486 hectare fuel reduction burn, 5km west of Dargo;

• Telegraph Rd, Gelliondale: 240 hectare fuel reduction burn, 12km south-west of Yarram;

• Forest Edge North, Seaton: 839 hectare fuel reduction burn, 21km north-west of Heyfield;

• Ridge Top: 13 hectare ecological burn in Alberton West State Forest;

• North Boundary: 174 hectare fuel reduction burn, 3km west of Alberton West;

• Dinner Track, Alberton West: 102 hectare fuel reduction burn, 10km south-west of Yarram;

• Goodson Track, Alberton West: 45 hectare ecological burn, 13.5 kms south-west of Yarram; and

• Hansteads Track: 185 hectare fuel reduction burn, 12km north-west of Lakes Entrance.
