WELLINGTON Shire Council has announced Sharyn Bolitho has been appointed to the key position of economic development manager.
Mrs Bolitho has lived and worked in Sale since 2008, most recently in the position of Commanding Officer of the No 30 (City of Sale) Squadron at RAAF Base East Sale.
Her network also spans the business sector through community service where she serves as board member of Sale Rotary Club.
After 25 years with the air force, Mrs Bolitho and her husband Tim have decided to settle in Sale, citing the opportunities the region presents for bringing up a young family.
“I am extremely privileged to have the opportunity to step into this exciting role.
“This is a great development for me both professionally and personally,” she said.
With a new economic development and tourism strategy adopted by council last year, Mrs Bolitho will have the opportunity to stamp her personal brand of tactical planning on its implementation.
Council chief executive David Morcom said Mrs Bolitho brought to the organisation extensive expertise in policy and leadership combined with formal qualifications in strategic studies, economics and business administration.
“She already has great networks throughout our community and is enthusiastic about helping drive economic development throughout the region,” he said.
“I expect that Sharyn will not waste any time in getting out and meeting with various stakeholders in the Wellington community.”
Mrs Bolitho will begin her new role on Monday, April 30.
