Street sign theft

ROSEDALE police are investigating the theft of a number of street signs. Signs in the George St area were forced from posts and stolen in the early hours of Sunday, April 22.

Anyone with information is asked to phone Rosedale police on 5199 2222.

YARRAM police are urging residents to lock their vehicles after a number were broken into on the night of Wednesday, April 25.

Sgt Brendan Summers said a number of vehicles in the Fairview Ave and Growse St areas were broken into by unknown offenders.

“A number of owners have left their vehicles unlocked and a small amount of cash and a laptop have been stolen,” he said. “We are urging residents to keep their vehicles locked, regardless of whether there are valuables in the vehicle or not.

Notices which say valuables have been removed from vehicles can be picked up from the police station.

Anyone with any information regarding the theft can phone Yarram police on 5182 5033.

YARRAM police have advised they will be targeting drink drivers in coming weeks.

Sgt Brendan Summers said police would focus on drink driving given the current road toll.

“We have detected three drink drivers recently, all with a blood alcohol concentration over 0.1 with the largest reading three times over the legal limit,” he said.
