Police urge vigilance

HEYFIELD police have asked the community to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity following a number of thefts from unoccupied homes and farms in recent weeks.

On Wednesday, May 4, offenders burgled a Coongulla home, stealing three motorcycles and a trailer, valued at $20,000 from a locked garage under the house. Police urge anyone who witnesses any suspicious behaviour to take note of people and vehicles and phone Heyfield police on 5148 2202 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.

AN injured motorcyclist was airlifted to Melbourne with serious injuries after crashing his machine near Woods Point on Friday evening. The rider was one of a party of 10 riders from Geelong. Sgt David Dowell urged riders, even experienced riders, to be aware of their limits when riding in isolated areas.

A CAR collided with a cow on the Sale-Maffra Rd at Bundalaguah about 10pm Friday night. The driver was not injured but police said he was driving while his licence was suspended and he will be charged on summons.
