Woman cut from wreck

A WOMAN had to be cut free from the wreckage of her car when she was hit by a truck on the Princes Highway at Fulham on Wednesday morning.

About 8am, the woman was turning left onto the highway from the Sale-Heyfield Rd to drive into Sale when she failed to give way to a truck and was hit. Police stated there was little to no fog about at the time of the crash.

The woman was trapped in her car for a short while, as SES and CFA crews had to cut off the doors of the car to free her. According to police, the woman was taken to hospital with neck and arm injuries.

POLICE were appalled to have caught a man driving at nearly 200km an hour near Sale at the weekend.

Police allege the 33 year old Boronia man, who also had a nine-year-old boy in the car with him at the time, was intercepted at Dutson Downs outside Longford doing 199km an hour in a 100km an hour zone.

Police impounded the man’s car for 30 days.
