FOUR local sisters are raising money to support women suffering breast cancer in Gippsland.
Rhiannon, Alycia, Michaela and Shevonne Cobby have organised a fundraising night in Sale next week, with money raised to be used to assist local women in Gippsland suffering financial hardships while fighting breast cancer.
The four sisters will dye their long locks four radical colours corresponding to a painting Rhiannon completed a few years ago.
Khayaam salon in Sale will transform the girls’ hair along and Sale’s JSM Embroidery will supply the girls with uniquely printed t-shirts to help raise awareness and promote their cause.
The sisters’ inspiration has come from their adored aunt, who has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The diagnosis shocked them into action to do something for local women who have found themselves in similar situations.
The girls are looking to the local community to support their cause.
Rhiannon Cobby said any donations would be appreciated and would be given directly to Gippsland Womens’ Health Service to be distributed to local women in need.
The fundraising event will be held at Redd Catt, Sale, next Thursday, August 9, from 7.30pm.
Tickets for the night are $25, which includes supper and live entertainment by both Dave Cobby and friends and well known local singer Kim Mowat.
Rhiannon said it would be a night of fun and fundraising and there would also be a raffle and door prizes.
Anyone wanting to buy tickets, make a donation or wanting more information can phone Rhiannon on 0400 395 345 or Michaela on 0417 970 957.
