TWO men were airlifted to Melbourne with serious injuries after a single car crash near Rosedale early on Wednesday morning.
According to police, the car the two men were travelling in was heading east along the Princes Highway at about 6am when it left the road and crashed into a tree.
Police are still investigating the circumstances of the crash, and are unwilling to speculate on what may have caused the car to leave the road.
Both men were trapped in the wreckage of the car, and had to be extracted by emergency services. The highway was closed while the men were freed and the wreckage was cleared.
The victims were then transported by helicopter to a Melbourne hospital, with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
