MOST of the Rottweiler-spaniel cross puppies featured in the Gippsland Times recently have found homes.
Elated Animal Aid Fulham shelter operations manager Debby Goddard said people had visited the shelter in response to the article and to a post about the puppies on the Gippsland Times Facebook page.
Four of the pups were adopted at the weekend, and will go to homes at Bega, Brunswick West, Upwey and locally.
The other two pups have been transferred to Animal Aid’s Coldstream shelter.
The pups had all come from the same litter and were surrendered to the shelter.
People interested in adopting cats and kittens can visit the shelter from 11am to 3pm Monday to Friday, and from 11am to 2pm on weekends.
The shelter is also seeking volunteers, particularly dog walkers and people to help with fundraising.
Ms Goddard said a retired person with some business expertise may be suitable to help co-ordinate fundraising.
“We want to build a dog exercise yard and a cat exercise area, and we want to raise money for that,” she said.
