A 53-YEAR-old man was taken to hospital after allegedly being bashed by a teenager in Sale on Thursday night.
The man suffered multiple facial fractures during the assault in Raymond St, Sale, between Codrington and Raglan Sts, about 6.30pm.
Police said four males in their late teens to early 20s, two on foot and two on BMX bicycles, were believed to be disrupting traffic when the 53-year- old, driving a white SUV, got out of his vehicle to ask them to clear the road.
Police allege the driver was then assaulted by a male in a black T-shirt and shorts.
A 19-year-old sale youth has been charged with recklessly causing serious injury and has been bailed to appear in the Sale Magistrate’s Court on November 19.
Sale police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, particularly a female who phoned Sale police station at the time.
