Candidate statement – Emilie Davine

I KNOW the challenges facing young families in the Wellington Shire and I want to be your representative on Council to ensure our voices are heard.

After leaving Sale to work abroad, my husband Dan and I decided to settle back in Sale to raise our young family.

My background is in human resources.

I have worked at Central Gippsland Health Service and Wellington Shire Council and been a board member of Eastern Victoria Group Training, president of the Gippsland Art Gallery Society and am current treasurer of Wellington Toy Library.

My vision is for a viable and creative community, allowing top class educational, employment, cultural and recreational opportunities for all.

To achieve this we must support local industries focusing on economic development and tourism for a sustainable future.

If elected I would work for the ratepayers, ensuring best possible use of available resources.

Our new residential estates need connecting walking paths into town and we need more places to safely store bikes.

Stephenson Park needs better lighting.

This would give the diverse users of this recreational facility extended hours and encourage participation.

The costs for the users of the Gippsland Regional Sports Complex needs to be kept affordable.

We need a new Sale public library, one that remains accessible and is centrally located.

If there is anything I can do to assist you, please contact me on my facebook page Emilie Davine for Wellington Shire Council.

Vote for me and let my passion and fresh perspective make a difference.
