Candidate statement – Jane Hildebrant

IT is important you elect someone who will stand up for your community and will work with you.

As your councillor, I am putting my broad experience in community projects, farming, Landcare, natural resource management, education, public policy and town planning to ensuring council serves you better.

Committees include: West Gippsland CMA Advisory, Briagolong Recreation Reserve, Art Gallery Feasibility, West Sale Airport and Sale Livestock Exchange.

I am an active Sale Showjumping Club member; my sporting passion is showjumping.

With a lifelong rural background (and living at Briagolong),  I support better services and resources for our smaller communities.

Promoting Wellington’s clean, green image and protecting our valuable farmland underpin our wealth and wellbeing.

Our food security and rural economy depend on keeping agriculture strong.

Responsible financial management is vital, especially in these tough times.

I am committed to sustainable development that strengthens our communities, small businesses and tourism ventures and cares for our natural, cultural and historical assets.

Securing state and federal funding for health, education, TAFE, sports, art and culture, RAAF, roads, bridges and pathways supports our prosperity. Other concerns include transport, childcare, youth support, sustainable living, coal seam gas and building and maintaining community facilities.

I strive for social justice and council leadership that truly reflects community values and vision.

I stand to protect your amenity and quality of life.

If re-elected, I will continue to ensure your concerns are heard and you fully participate in the decisions that affect your lives.

With time, energy and skills, I act to represent you wherever you live.
