THREE men were taken to hospital at the weekend following separate violent incidents in Sale and Heyfield.
A 19-year-old man was taken to Sale hospital with head and facial injuries after he was set upon and seriously assaulted by a group of men outside the Kazbah Lounge, Sale, about 3.30am Sunday.
In a separate incident, a 21-year-old man was taken to Heyfield hospital at the weekend with serious facial injuries after two assailants entered through the back door of a Mills St residence about 6pm Sunday, assaulting its two occupants.
The man discharged himself from hospital early Monday morning but was re-admitted to Sale hospital when his injuries proved more serious than he thought.
The 21 and 41-year-old alleged offenders have yet to be formally charged with aggravated burglary, as the 41-year-old who injured his arm during the incident was taken to Traralgon’s Latrobe Regional Hospital and then Melbourne to undergo surgery.
Police are asking witnesses to either of these violent incidents to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Sale Criminal Investigation Unit on 5143 5000.
However the weekend violence did not end there.
Heyfield police responded to a domestic dispute on Friday night, arresting a 21-year-old man for assaulting his partner.
He has since been issued with a family violence safety notice.
The Cowwarr General Store was also targeted early yesterday morning when two thieves smashed a window as they broke in, startling the store owner who chased them off with a broom.
The store owner was unable to get a good look at the men as one remained outside during the incident and the other was wearing a hoodie and had his face obscured.
The thieves made off with a computer.
