Log truck brings down lines

A LOG truck brought down power lines in Rosedale about 5.10pm on Monday afternoon after its driver attempted to park.

Logs snagged electrical stay wires which in turn snapped a supporting concrete post.

The incident resulted in power lines falling across trees, a boat and two outbound lanes of the Princes Highway at Princes St.

Traffic was diverted around the scene and power was cut to local businesses for several hours while repair work was undertaken.

Coincidentally, fire and SES crews were nearby, entertaining children as part of the Great Victorian Bike Ride tour through the town, so were at the scene within minutes.

Nobody was injured in the incident.
